Rubber Mats
These mats are molded to suit the space on the floor and are the best mats for wet climates. They are normally manufactured using high quality rubber. They are designed with a deep lip to house water, dirt and any other materials that are likely to be trapped on your boots or shoes. This material is waterproof, resistant to stain and its design facilitates long term use.
Once the rubber mats get dirty it requires to be cleaned. Remove the mats from the vehicle and using soap and water scrub them. The mats have to be air dried and after drying check for splits or holes. If the condition of the rubber mat is satisfactory continue using them. In case the mat is defective replace it with a new one.
Carpet mats
Carpeted car floor mats are sometimes provided with a new vehicle when purchased and they are manufactured using the same carpet material installed in the vehicle. These mats are made using synthetic fibers that produce appealing effects and effectively traps dust and dirt.
In order to improve the longevity of the product a plastic or rubber material is placed on the back of carpet mats. The effectiveness of the mat for trapping dirt and dust is determined by the density of weave and quality of fibers used. This mat is normally used in a moderate to low rainfalls climate.
Clear (Vinyl) mat
In this a vinyl sheet is cut to match the vehicle mat specifications. It is positioned on top of the existing car mat to reduce wear and tear. In order to ensure longevity select a mat that is of good quality and thickness.
Universal absorbent car mat
This is made of polyethylene in a cloth cover and is lightweight. It is used in conjunction with the existing mats to absorb liquids quickly. This type of mat is suited for wet climates.
